Race Report – 14 Wins in 2016

 

LAVRA Series Overall:

Athlete Christina Birch is currently sitting in 3rd overall in the series, while Coach Missy Erickson remains in 5th overall despite relocating to the east coast. Junior athlete Ivy Koester remains in a 5-way tie for 10th overall. Athlete Joe Camacho also is in a 5-way tie for 10th place in the Cat 4’s. Coach Giddeon Massie continues to dominate the Cat 1/2, with athlete Todd Woodlan is in a 3-way tie for 12th place overall. Athlete Bob Francis is holding his own in the 1/2 with a solid 1 point from the beginning of the series. Athletes Marvin Hall and James Moore both secured their first points in the Cat 3 series overall this week.

Athlete Christina Birch took the win in the women’s Snowball during the FNR Series at the Velo Sports Center in Carson, CA. And we heard she did it while taking a lead off the front! She also finished 2nd in the miss and out, and 3rd in the points race. Junior rider Ivy Koester finished 5th in both the miss and out and snowball.

Coach Giddeon Massie placed 4th in the snowball event at VSC, and continues to dominate the Cat 1/2 overall series.

Athlete Marvin Hall placed 4th in the snowball in the men’s category 3 races at VSC.

Athlete Joe Camacho placed 5th in the men’s Category 4 snowball during FNR at VSC. The purple bike is looking pretty flashy!

Athlete Marvin Hall took 3rd place in the Redlands Bicycle Classic and did it in classy fashion. Spending a large chunk of the race off the front and dropping rider after rider as he did it! Way to go Marvin!

Redbeard Racing’s Chelsea Matias placed herself on the podium AGAIN this week at the Kissena Velodrome in New York!
