What do you want to achieve this year? Write it down.
Now, what do you need to do to achieve this? Write that down.
What kind of support do you need to make those things happen? Write that down.
What do you need to change in your life to let those people, help you do those things, to achieve what you want to do this year? Write those changes down.
Those are resolutions. Too often we say, “I need to lose weight, I need to eat less chocolate.” But how realistic are those things, if we don’t shape how we are going to get there first? New Years offer an opportunity to start fresh. It’s another opportunity to become a national champion, to train harder, to race better and smarter. As you tip back your class of champagne and toast to a better 2016, surround yourself with the people you need to make these goals happen, so in two months you aren’t already looking forward to 2017, and the gym membership isn’t falling to the wayside.
We already know you’ve got the coaches you need, but what else are you bringing into your New Year to help you succeed? Write them down, read your affirmations, and get ready to stick to those resolutions for maybe the first time, ever!
